Bye Bye Boracay, Hello Hong Kong!

We enjoyed our last few days on Boracay and though I was recovering from a pretty stupid sunburn, we still managed to do quite a few fun things . . .

Sailing trip around the island to the BAT CAVE - Bruce's #1 Favourite Site:

A trip by trike (crazy little motorbikes with side cars) to Puka Beach which was wavy and windy and almost even more beautiful than the main beach because it was entirely made up of tiny bits of shells - amazing!

And, our last Boracay sunset:

We arrived in Hong Kong on Tuesday evening and are lucky enough to have been able to stay in the apartment of friends of a friend who actually left the next day to head to Boracay themselves.

Yesterday we headed to Kowloon (just north of Hong Kong island) to check out some shopping and to research the possibility of getting some clothes tailored - we stumbled across cheap cameras instead so now we're on the hunt for one of those!

Then we headed to the Big Buddha in town - on the way we saw this scene in the subway station:

the Valentine's Day wedding of Hello Kitty (a popular Asian icon for those not in the cartoon know) and there was also a real life couple, probably winners of a contest (?) who were surrounded by press cameras when we entered the subway station as well - crazy stuff!

Our trip to the Big Buddha was really nice and included a crazy 25 minute cable car ride (each way) up the mountains. The really cool part about this landmark is that we actually saw it on the mountain side as we few into Hong Kong on Tuesday evening - very cool!

Now we're getting ready to head out to see Stanley Market for more shopping, sight seeing and cultural experiences!
